A few years ago, Tyrrell Winston was a guest on a podcast I listened to pretty frequently at the time. I wasn’t familiar with his work then, so I looked him up to get some context for the things they were talking about. After listening to the podcast and seeing his work, I was instantly sold on him, his vision, and his attitude towards art in the modern world. All of his work immediately inspired me and continues to do so today. From having exhibitions all over the world to having signature shoes with Reebok, Tyrrell is the kind of artist you can’t put inside a box. If you’re not familiar with his work, you should should be. What’s your favorite water brand?
Essentia.
What's your ideal bagel sandwich?
Bacon, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel with ketchup.

David Hammons.

My vintage Champion Harvard tennis sweatshirt from eBay.

Always gold.
What’s your favorite city to visit?
London or Paris.
Who’s your favorite athlete of all time?
Allen Iverson or Michael Jordan. I wish I was alive to experience Mickey Mantle.

If you could wear only one shoe for the rest of your life what would it be?

Vintage Gap denim shirt, jeans (Gap or Levi’s), a pair of Chucks, and gold jewelry.
What are two things that are out and two things that are in?
In: Midwest hospitality and a good pair of jeans that you’ve lived in for awhile.
Out: Being busy and being mad.
What’s inspiring you most right now?
My daughter.
What are you working on right now?
Exhibitions in New York (October), Dubai (November), and Brussels (May 2025).
