A few years ago my friends started introducing me to their friends, and those friends introduced me to more friends, and suddenly my world was full of people I’m constantly inspired by and consider family. Todays guest is one of the friends I made along the way. Nathan Knox is a drummer, producer, and the co-owner of Weak Coffee (alongside his wife Steph Reiman, shoutout Steph).
Saying Nate is only those three things feels wrong, because I’m always finding out he’s good at more things. If the world were ending, I would call Nate and ask him what we should do. If I wanted to make an album in a month, I’d call Nate. If we got lost on a hike, Nate would know where north is. You get the picture - he can do it all.
The best part about him is that you would never know any of this because he’s one of the most humble and down to earth people I have ever met. Saying people are “cool” feels dorky to me, but Nate is just endlessly and effortlessly cool. Here are his sixteen answers.

What does your ideal morning look like?
I’m pretty proud of my Google Home automations. It’s so nerdy but setting myself up for a relaxing morning is important to me. My kettle starts boiling water at 5:59am, my ambient music playlist starts playing at 6:00am, and my alarm goes off at 6:01am. I make a cup of coffee and split it with my wife Steph, and I love the mornings we get to sit out on the porch and watch the sun hit our neighborhood.
What does your ideal evening look like?
Low-key porch hang with friends where I know I don’t have anywhere to be in the morning.
What are two things that are out and two things that are in?
Out:
Saying “Let’s Go!” as an interjection.
Contrarians.
In:
Liking stuff.
Ordering a drip coffee after dinner.
What’s inspiring you most right now?
Truly all of my friends. I’m so grateful to have a group of people I’m constantly around who inspire me relationally and creatively. It’s lottery status.
What are you working on right now?
Tour prep for Ultrapure Tour Part 2 with Briston!
I am secretly a Nathan Knox Stan
